Yria Chorianopoulou
Born some Aprils ago in Athens (Greece), I first entered the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts of the Technical University of Athens, but felt it was too narrow a field. Wanting to widen my artistic field I moved on to enter the Department of Fine Arts and Art Sciences of the University of Ioannina, only to ironically circle back to photography.
Since then I have been concentrating on photography, while gathering experiences and visual references from quite a few countries, to return back to Athens.
A fundamental part of my artistic process is that of revisiting ongoing photographic projects, in order to locate repeating subjects and themes. Through this ongoing procedure new focus points are formed, leading to new reflections and explorations.
